New Delhi (August 02): In the case of misleading advertisement by Patanjali, yoga guru Ramdev and Patanjali Ayurveda Managing Director (MD) Acharya Balakrishna appeared before the Supreme Court and apologized for their behaviour. However, not satisfied with his apology, the high court reprimanded him and asked him to take the court order seriously.

The Supreme Court has strictly said that they do not give the excuse of serving the country. Be it in the Supreme Court or any other court in the country. He suggested that the order should be followed.

A two-judge bench of Justice Hima Kohli and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah heard the contempt of court case against Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna in the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The lawyer appearing on behalf of the two told the Supreme Court that the affidavit had been submitted. In this regard, the bench asked where was Ramdev’s affidavit.

After this, two affidavits were to be submitted, but only one was submitted and the other was not submitted, said the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court said, ‘Earlier we asked the company and MD to file a reply, when the reply was not filed, a contempt notice was issued.

The Supreme Court has expressed its displeasure over the grievances of Baba Ramdev and Swami Balakrishna. The court said, ‘The orders of the court cannot be taken lightly. You made a promise and then broke it. This is an insult to the highest court in the land and now you are apologizing. This is not acceptable to us.

The court said your apology is not enough. The trial was going on in the Supreme Court and Patanjali’s advertisements were being printed there. Your media department is no different than you, why did you do this? You were warned in November, yet we held a press conference. Even after the November 21 court order, the company, Balakrishna and Ramdev held a press conference the following day.

The Supreme Court, Ramdev held a press conference within 24 hours of the court order. You appear as a promoter in an ad. Now he has appeared before the court after 2 months.’ Ramdev’s lawyer said, ‘This will not happen in the future. We apologize for the mistake that happened earlier.’ After this, Ram Dev also apologized to the court.
