A Bangladesh Police team arrived in Kolkata on Sunday afternoon to investigate the murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar. Here the team expressed its desire to interrogate the arrested suspects from West Bengal CID and visit Barangay, where MP Anar resided. The Bangladeshi police also expressed their desire to speak to the member of parliament’s friend and the owner of the house where Anar was staying.

On the condition of anonymity, a senior officer of the Bengal CID said that the Bangladesh Police will help in every possible way. All evidence collected in connection with the case will be shared with the Bangladesh Police.

MP Anar did not return home until May 17

Gopal Vishwas, a resident of Barnagar and an acquaintance of the MP, filed a missing complaint of Anar at the local police station on May 18, stating that he had reached Kolkata on May 12 for treatment. MP Anar left his residence in Berenger to meet the doctor on May 13, and said he would return home for dinner, but he did not return home until May 17, and could not be reached by phone. Vishwas was then forced to file a missing complaint.

The police found signs of strangulation

After Gopal Biswaz’s complaint, the police started searching for Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim. During the investigation, the Kolkata Police found evidence indicating that he was strangled to death, after which his body was cut into pieces and dumped in different areas. However, no traces of MP Anar’s body or body parts have yet been found.
