High prices for cherries are expected in Ukraine – AgroNews Achi-News

“In addition, we cannot predict the situation with the war. If the situation worsens, people will start to leave the country again and consumption will decrease. Therefore, I believe that this season there will be either a few or a lot of cherries, but with a lower price and less demand,” the plantation project manager is convinced The cherries of Umansk Fruit Company LLC.

By the way, even despite the war, “Artisan Fruit Company” continues to expand the cherry orchards. So, in 2022, the area of ​​the garden will increase by 3 dunams, in 2023 – by 1 dunam, and this year it will be expanded by another 2 dunams. So, in the 2014 season, the total area of ​​the garden will reach 22 dunams. And next year the Artisan Fruit Company plans to continue the project of expanding the orchards and planting another 7 dunams of orchards with cherries.

In addition, “Umansk Fruit Company” began to develop this direction of cherry processing and produces cherry jam, spicy berries with spices, cherry candies, etc.

“It’s worth noting that processing cherries is not an end in itself, but a forced means, because we always have a certain category of products that cannot be sold, but it’s a shame to throw them away. It can be a small cherry, an overripe or slightly damaged cherry that we decided to process. But we don’t We are planning to greatly increase the volume of such products, and target high-quality cherries for processing,” says Oksana Gordi.
