Icmr says 56.4 percent of disease burden in India due to unhealthy diet, issues 17 dietary guidelines – Amar Ojla Hindi News Achi-News

56.4 percent of diseases in India are caused by unhealthy eating habits. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) revealed this in its report. The report says that in order to stay healthy, a person needs 1,200 grams of food a day, from which he gets 2,000 calories. It is enough to consume in a plate 100 grams of fruits, 400 grams of green vegetables, 300 ml of milk or hummus, 85 grams of legumes or eggs, 35 grams of nut seeds and 250 grams of cereals.

Consuming more than 27 grams of lubricant per day can be dangerous to health. In non-vegetarian food, a maximum of 70 grams of chicken or meat per day is sufficient. On Wednesday, ICMR issued 17 dietary guidelines. According to ICMR, consuming nutritious food can reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases including type 2 diabetes, blood pressure, heart disease by 80 percent. ICMR Director General Dr. Rajeev Bahl has appealed to all residents of the country to improve their own and their families’ nutrition by following these guidelines.

A six to eight month old baby requires 650 calories a day. If a mother breastfeeds four times, the baby receives a maximum of 500 calories. Therefore, along with breastfeeding, pulses and rice should be fed in the morning or afternoon, a banana or a boiled apple in the afternoon and some khichdi in the evening. A nine to 12 month old child needs 720 calories a day. Besides breastfeeding, it is also necessary to consume pulses, rice, khichdi and fruits.

More salt, less potassium in our food

A joint study by the George Institute for Global Health India and PGI Chandigarh, published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition, found that most people have more salt on their plates while less potassium.

Food for a pregnant woman

During pregnancy, a woman needs to consume 150 ml of milk at six in the morning, which will provide about 110 calories. Breakfast at eight in the morning, which should include 60 grams of whole grains, 75 grams of vegetables, 20 grams of legumes, 20 grams of dried fruit and five grams of oil. Consume rice or Polka (100 grams), legumes (30 grams), hummus and fruit at 1:00 p.m. Dry fruits and 50 ml of milk at 4:00 p.m. are enough. At eight o’clock at night it is necessary to consume rice or polka (60 grams), red gram or chana (25 grams), 10 grams of oil and 50 grams of fruit. This routine increases the chances of giving birth to a healthy baby manifold.

Mustard oil is more beneficial than ghee

There are three types of fatty acids (FA) in our diet which include saturated fatty acids (SFA), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). Excessive consumption of saturated fat (SF) increases calorie intake and increases the risk of heart disease or stroke. In addition, trans fats (TF) are harmful and should be avoided. Ghee, palm oil and coconut oil have the highest amount of saturated fatty acids (SFA) while mustard oil has the lowest amount.
