A Quebec player known as Gouchy Boy was accused of assaulting a photographer in a Montreal-area court Wednesday minutes before he was sentenced for sexual assault.
The confrontation was recorded on video by a Noovo Info reporter. The actor, whose real name is Chijoke Onyechekwa Ugochukwu, threw his walker at Journal de Montreal photographer Pierre-Paul Poulin when he arrived at the court in Longuei, Que.
Goshi Boy cursed the photographer and told him to “get out of my way”. Special police officers were called to the incident and later arrested him. He was then charged with assault.
Moments later, he was also sentenced to 21 months after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman in a 2018 intimate partner violence case at a motel in Brusser, on Montreal’s South Shore.
The defense asked for a 20-month suspended sentence in the community while the Crown prosecutor asked for a two-year sentence behind bars.
Gouchy Boy once played the role of a prison warden in the TV series Unité 9 and appeared in several other TV shows and movies.
