Washington: US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said it is the responsibility of the Taliban not to provide a safe haven to terrorists.

The spokesman for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, said in a press briefing that the Taliban should fulfill all its promises to the international community on counter-terrorism.

Matthew Miller said that the United States will continue to work to prevent terrorist attacks against other Western countries.

He said Afghanistan should never again become a launching pad for terrorism. Terrorist groups, including ISIS, were targeted in February 2022 on the president’s orders and a successful airstrike on ISIS leader Haji Abdullah in Kabul.

The spokesman said that the emir of al-Qaeda was also killed during the operation in Kabul and Ayman al-Zawahiri was also killed in the US air strike.
