Bengaluru: Dry fruits are selling very well in the city’s markets, including the capital’s Russell Market. In the wake of Ramzan, dry fruits are in full swing in Bangalore markets. Half of Ramzan is already over and only a few days are left.
Demand for Iran, Jordan fruits!
The dry fruit trade, which had shrunk after Covid, has increased this time. This time more than 600 quintals of dry fruits are expected to be sold in the city. Dry fruits have been imported into the city from different countries of the world this time too. This time dates from Iran and Jordan are in high demand. There are a total of 47 types of dates available in the market.

Expensive but great business!
As usual, dried fruits have been imported from Iran and Jordan including Saudi Arabia, Baghdad, Tunisia, South Africa. Among these, the highest quality Ajwa variety dates from Iran and Jordan are in high demand. This fruit is sold from 1,000 to 2,500 per kg. Apart from this, almonds, dried grapes, cashews are all appreciated by consumers.

After Ramadan, the import of certain types of dates will be suspended. Hence, the people of Bengaluru stand at the forefront to taste world’s best quality dates available only in Ramzan.
