Islamabad: The federal government has reconstituted the ECL committee of the cabinet. It was decided not to give the headship of the ECL committee to any federal minister. The First Minister will head the Cabinet’s own ECL Committee. The Home Minister is not included in the Cabinet’s ECL Committee.
The Ministry of the Interior will provide secretarial support to the committee, but the Minister of the Interior is not a member of the committee. Sources say that the Home Minister headed the ECL committee in the caretaker government. The Cabinet Division has published a notice for the reconstitution of the 4 member ECL Committee.
According to the notice, the ECL committee includes the Minister of Law, the Minister of Industry and Production and the Minister of Human Resources. In the absence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Law will chair the committee.
