The first educational institution affiliated to RTU to be granted autonomous status by UGC.
Jaipur, currently there is demand for an industry ready student market, now industry is reluctant to invest in training. This is what Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) Vice Chancellor Prof. of SK Singh. He was addressing a press conference organized at Swami Keshavanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan (SKIT) on Saturday. The conference was organized to commemorate SKIT becoming the first autonomous engineering educational institution in the country. With this, RTU affiliated SKIT became the first college in the country to get this autonomous affiliation.
SKIT was recognized as autonomous by UGC on April 24 last month, which was formally approved by RTU on May 2. During the press conference, Vice Chancellor Prof. SK Singh said that due to the college’s good scores, NBA certification, being ranked first in RTU QIV for 7 consecutive years, as well as being equipped with all the required facilities for engineering including major infrastructure, the college has received approval from the UGC and this RTU has been recognized. According to him, after this affiliation, the course design will be done by the institute and the degree will be given by RTU only.
The press conference organized to share information about autonomous recognition was addressed by RTU Vice Chancellor Prof. SK Singh, College Chairman Sujaram Mel, Principal Jaipal Meel, Principal Ramesh Kumar Pachar spoke.
Recognition received over 10 years:
This recognition of autonomy has been granted to SKIT by UGC and RTU for 10 years, which will run from 2024-25 to 2033-34. During this period the institute will design its own syllabus for its courses. Chairman Surajaram Meel said that after getting autonomous recognition, a syllabus based on global parameters can be prepared for the students so that they can perform better at the various levels and can also go for a semester’s industrial internship. He said with this, all the courses of the students will be released on time According to the academic board and the results will also be announced on time.Principal Jaipal Meel said it is a matter of pride for the entire state that a college in the capital has received this recognition.
