Mahavir Chowk is the focal point of the Ram Navami festival. People from different walks of life reach the Shri Prachin Mahavir Temple located here. In the year 1929, the first Mahaviri flag was taken out from this temple in Ranchi, and reached the Tapovan temple. This temple was established by Bhagwat Dayal Sahu 250 years ago. His grandson Ashok Kumar Gupta said that this temple is under the care of our family. The idol installed in the temple is made of a single stone. This idol was brought from Banaras.

It was brought by a bullock cart. It took three months to arrive.
