Mumbai Police has registered a case against Maharashtra Youth Congress social media and 16 others for circulating a fake video of Amit Shah. In the fake video, it was shown that Amit Shah had allegedly announced the removal of the reservation. In this case, a local BJP leader, Prateek Karpe, filed a complaint at the Cyber ​​Police Station located in Bandra Kurla Complex.

The complaint said that a deeply fake video of Amit Shah was made and circulated on social media. The complaint states that this video was shared by the accused with the wrong intention of defaming Amit Shah. An attempt was made to mislead people by tampering with the video of Amit Shah’s speech at the rally and using Deepfake technology.

The complaint demanded immediate removal of the fake video from social media as it risks spreading enmity between communities. On the basis of the complaint, the police registered a case against the Maharashtra Youth Congress social media and 16 others under various sections of IPC and IT Act. The police are investigating the matter
