Bengaluru: The ‘Janata Khana’ scheme started by the Indian Railways is now available at 7 railway stations in the state. Passengers can buy breakfast, lunch and water at a low cost under this scheme. Currently, this service will be available to customers in different 100 railway stations of the country including 7 state railway stations.
Where is Janata food?
‘Prajavani’ reported that counters have been opened at Mangalore Central, Mangalore Junction and Majestic Krantiveera Sangolli Bangalore, Yeshavantpur, Mysore, Vijayapur and Bellary stations of Southern Railway and food is being served.
The IRCTC already provides meals on the spot in reserved buses to those traveling to distant towns by trains. That service will continue. However, this service will provide greater convenience for passengers in unreserved coaches.

Food was provided at low rates in the kitchen stalls at the stations like ‘Janata Oota’. Now a counter has been opened on the platform itself. Here breakfast for 20 rupees, lunch for 50 rupees and 200 ml for 3 rupees. Water will be available.
