New Delhi (A.24): The incubation period for the Lok Sabha elections has reached its peak. The political uproar started with the statement given by Sam Pitroda even before the speech which started on Mangalsutra and property issue died, the Congress leader’s statement was expressed by the BJP. In fact, a video of Sam Pitroda is going viral on social media where he talks about inheritance tax in America. At this time, the BJP made a fuss about this and accused the Congress policies of ruining the country. Meanwhile, the Congress party has distanced itself from the controversy by saying that it was Pitroda’s personal statement.

Indian Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda said in Chicago, America, “Inheritance tax is being levied in America. If someone has assets worth $100 million, he can pass only 45 percent of the assets to his children when he dies. The remaining 55 percent will be taken by the government. This is an interesting law. If you have created wealth in your generation, you should leave half of the property to the public when you die. I like this fair law.

Also, ‘You don’t have this in India. Someone’s wealth is 10 billion and if he dies, his children get 10 billion and the public gets nothing. So people should discuss such things. I do not know what the final conclusion will be, but when we talk about redistributing wealth, we are talking about new policies and new programs, which are not only for the benefit of the rich.

BJP leader Amit Malaviya reacted to Sam Pitroda’s statement and warned the voters about the Congress plans. He wrote on social media platform X, ‘Congress is determined to destroy India. Now, Sam Pitroda is advocating an inheritance tax of 50% to redistribute wealth. This means that 50% of what we create with all our hard work and industry goes away. He said apart from 50% of the tax we pay, if the Congress wins, that will also increase.

If you do this every day, you will lose English!

Senior Congress leader Pawan Kheda condemned Malaviya’s allegations and said, ‘Has he (Pitroda) said that Congress will bring this policy? Did the Congress say this in its manifesto? Isn’t there an opportunity to debate and discuss different ideas in this land of ancient discussion?’
