The federal government has reconstituted the Exit Control List (ECL) Committee of the Cabinet, it was decided not to give the chairmanship of the committee to a federal minister.
The Prime Minister will head the Cabinet’s own ECL Committee, the Ministry of the Interior will provide secretarial support to the committee, while the Home Minister is not included in the ECL Committee.
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification for the reconstitution of the 4 member ECL Committee, according to which the ECL Committee consists of the Minister of Law, the Minister of Industries and Production, the Minister of Human Resources.
According to the notification, in the absence of the Prime Minister, the Law Minister will chair the committee. ECL cases will be examined in the ECL sub-committee.
