By-polling is being held on Monday at a polling station in Indiananath Bhannoor village in Karnataka’s Chamarajangarh Lok Sabha constituency. Voting started again from 7 am against the background of sophisticated security arrangements at the polling stations, which will continue until 6 pm. Voting was held in Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency on April 26, but due to a clash between two groups, EVMs were vandalized in the polling booth.

In view of the incident of the collision, the Election Commission ordered a resurvey in the area. According to the district administration, “the villagers decided earlier to boycott the elections on the grounds of lack of infrastructure development. The voting was held here after assistance from local officials.”

According to preliminary information, one group was in favor of voting, while the other group demanded that it be boycotted. There was a clash between the two groups over this and the EVM machine was damaged by stone pelting. In light of the conflict, the commission said on Saturday that the vote held on Friday in polling station number 146 will be considered null and void.

Repeat polls were also conducted in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.

Not only in Karnataka, the repolls have already taken place in Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh as well. On the one hand, re-voting was held in 11 polling stations of Manipur, and on the other hand, re-voting was held in eight polling stations of Arunachal.

In fact, the Lok Sabha elections are taking place even amid the ongoing violence in Manipur. Due to allegations of fraud in the first stage of voting on April 19, a decision was made to hold a repeat vote in 11 polling stations. On April 22, by-elections were held in 11 constituencies of Inner Manipur. Meanwhile, incidents of violence were seen in eight polling stations on April 19 in the initial phase of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh. In view of the incidents of violence, on April 24, a repeat ballot was held in these polling stations.
