New Delhi: Comedian Raju Srivastava’s last rites will be held in Delhi today. The last rites of the famous comedian are being performed at the Nikamboth Ghat crematorium in Kashmir Gate.
Raju Srivastava’s body is taken from his residence in Delhi in an ambulance decorated with white flowers followed by a van with his fans and supporters. Ahead of the cremation, comedian Sunil Paul told ANI, “Raju Srivastava is today’s Charlie Chaplin.”
“He was very hardworking and would perform on stage continuously for 2-3 hours. Audience loved his performance on stage and he loved his work. In his lifetime, he has already done every laugh. If people consider us as star actors, then Raju Srivastava was absolute heaven. .

He is our teacher but never realizes us. Raju ji is very humble and great man. He will always be remembered.” Comedian and actor Raju Srivastava breathed his last at the age of 58 on Wednesday after being admitted to Delhi’s AIIMS hospital on August 10 due to a heart attack.
Raju gained widespread recognition after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005, and has been a part of the Indian entertainment industry since the late 1980s.
Satya Prakash Srivastava was born on December 25, 1963 in a middle class family in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, his father Ramesh Chandra Srivastava was a poet known as Balai Kaka. Right from childhood, Raju had an interest in mimicry, which is why he wanted to become a comedian.
After completing his primary education in Kanpur, Raju moved to Mumbai with the dream of becoming a comedian. He started his career by playing small roles in Bollywood films. The comedian was hospitalized on August 10 after suffering a heart attack. While working out in the gym, he had chest pains and fell down. Following this, his coach took him to the hospital.

The 58-year-old reportedly complained of chest pain while running on a treadmill. He underwent angioplasty the same day. After several weeks on a ventilator, he finally passed away on September 21.
