Political parties were gearing up for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday launched his party’s campaign for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. It has also been decided to make Odisha the number one state in the country by 2036.
Patnaik, while campaigning from his stronghold of Hingili, targeted the opposition parties and accused them of stalling development work in the country. Addressing the public meeting CM said, ‘Development is our identity. However, it is unfortunate that the opposition parties create obstacles in this. Be it Srimandir Parikrama project or Akmara project or Samali project, the opposition parties are politicizing everything. The opposition is engaged in propaganda against development. Odisha people know their true nature.
The Chief Minister of Odisha said that no one can succeed in opposing development. He called upon the people to make the next 10 years the ‘Decade of Odisha’. During this, he mentioned the big development projects of the BJD government and pledged to make Odisha the number one state in the country by 2036.
100 years will be completed
The BJP president said that in 2036 it will be 100 years since Odisha became a separate state. Therefore, the next decade from 2024 to 2034 is important for the country because during this period the country needs to strengthen its base to be number one in all fields. Patnaik also highlighted the transformative initiatives of his government and said that about 70 lakh women are leading the change in the country.
Farmers receive an interest-free loan
Patnaik also said that farmers get zero percent interest loans in the country. Similarly, members of Mission Shakti have so far received interest-free loans worth Rs 18,000 crore. This is a milestone in the development of Odisha. BJD is the first place in giving rights to women.
The country was a leader in the field of women’s empowerment
Claiming that Odisha is a leader in many fields including disaster management, the Prime Minister said that the state is a leader in the field of women empowerment. According to him, apart from being a food state, Odisha has received a lot of investment. He said that Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) is a unique health scheme in the country.
It will be a golden opportunity for the youth
Patnaik said that the state will present a budget for the youth in the coming days. According to him, the decade 2024-34 will be a golden opportunity for the youth. Emphasis will be placed on industrial investment and skill development in the youth budget. The decade 2034-2024 will be Odisha’s decade. Patnaik said that by 2036, Odisha will become the number one country in the world.
