Ernakulam: A heartbreaking incident has taken place in Kerala where the dead body of a newborn baby was found in the middle of the road in a bloody condition.

A newborn baby’s body wrapped in a plastic sheet was found in the middle of the road in a bloody condition in Ernakulam Kochi, and according to information, the child’s mother is a 23-year-old unmarried woman who lives in a nearby flat, and threw the newborn baby from the 5th floor of an apartment in Panambali city.

According to sources, the young woman who gave birth to the child is not married. She had been the victim of a rape and the police confirmed that it was a case of pregnancy out of wedlock. But it is not known whether a case of rape was registered or not. According to the information, she did not tell her family that she was pregnant.

At that time, she had labor pains and went straight to the bathroom of the house and gave birth to the baby there. After giving birth to the child, she wrapped the child in a plastic cover and threw it on the road. Later, cleaning workers saw the dead body and informed the police. A preliminary post-mortem report says the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the skull. The newborn’s lower jaw was also injured.

The police have not yet confirmed whether the woman was raped or not. At the moment, the child’s mother has been arrested on charges of murder and is being treated in hospital. Police said he will be moved to jail once his health improves.

Meanwhile, the Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has registered the case. The Commission for Protection of Child Rights has sought a report from the Kochi City Police Commissioner.
