— IIT Kharagpur Megalith 2024 –

“Megalith” is a technical festival organized annually by the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. The aim of this festival is to introduce all new civil engineering students to the challenges of essential practical skills. This time also “Megalith 2024” was organized during the first week of March. Vest representative to tell you the truth He told the reporter that this time a large number of students participated in the festival to gain valuable experience and achieve excellence in various fields, from computer drawing to design, coding to actual construction.

This time L&T joined as title sponsor, co-title sponsor Cain, platinum sponsor AirArk, and Rashmi Group, Haldia Petrochemicals, Jai Balaji Group, Emil as main sponsors.

This time, personalities from different fields participated in the festival and provided invaluable views and information to the audience and students through informative discussions.

First day:-

On the first day of the festival, Ms. Saloni Khanna, a prominent entrepreneur, teacher, mock visionary IAS interviewer and an influential person from Delhi was the guest lecturer at the event.

Second day:-

On the second day of the festival, Mr. Deep Kishore Sen, Whole Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President, Larsen & Toubro Limited and Director, Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) time to arrive.

day 3:-

Unlocking the Future A panel discussion featuring leading experts on the AI/ML technology landscape with Prof. Advay Mitra, Prof. Mrigank Sharad, Prof. Brajesh Mukar Dubey and Prof. Rajib Maiti. On the third day ie the day of the closing ceremony, Mr. Ankit Mittal, a veteran of the iron and steel industry, participated in the program.

The participants showed their creative and imaginative skills with their photographic skills to capture memorable moments caught on camera. A total prize money of Rs 5000 was given in it.

● Model Display :-

In this event, participants demonstrated their creative ideas by building small-scale models representing real-world projects. A total prize money of Rs 16000 was given in it.

● Debate:-

Whether you are experienced or new to a field, positive argument builds confidence, persistence and quick thinking. On similar lines, a debating program was organized during Megalith to shape clear and critical thinkers. A total prize money of Rs 10,000 was given in it.

• Third: Arijit Talukdar, Aliah University

● Green Canvas:-

The participants of the event showcased their innovative and creative ideas to reduce the impact of pollution and restore greenery. A total prize money of Rs 16000 was given in it.
The winners in this program were:-

• Second place: Team Satakshi Chauhan, IIT Kharagpur
• Third Place: Team Prateek Dutta, Heritage Institute of Technology

● Quiz:-

Megalith was an online quiz program from IIT Kharagpur that covered questions from subjects ranging from civil engineering to logical reasoning and general knowledge. A total prize money of Rs 5000 was given in it.
After a tough competition, Ankan Kumar Majumdar of BC Roy College of Engineering was the winner of the event.

At Kriyar Megalith Fest, there was competition on the spot. Where participants had to build structures using teamwork, spontaneity and available materials (providing raw materials). A total of prizes worth Rs 16,000 were kept in it.
