Kairana (Sachhoon News). Kairana News: Sugarcane farmers from Kandela, Hingokhedi, Sheikhupura and Jaganpur villages have opened a front against the Shamli Sugar Mill. Farmers, angry over non-payment of sugarcane duties, have held a Panchayat and warned against boycotting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The farmers’ warning has put the administration ahead. Last Wednesday, a Panchayat was organized at the residence of former chief Ishwar Chauhan at Shekhupura village in the block area, in which farmers from Kandela, Hingokhedi, Shekhupura and Jaganpur villages participated. In the Panchayat, farmers expressed strong anger over non-payment of sugarcane duties. He said that the Shamli Sugar Mill is exploiting the sugarcane farmers. The mill owes more than Rs 200 crore to farmers, which includes payment for four months of the 2022-23 grinding season and one month of the current season. Farmer Avneesh Chauhan said that the government and the administration have taken a soft stand towards the management of the mill, due to which the farmers are not able to pay their sugar dues. He also expressed his anger at the indifferent attitude of Lok Sabha MP Pradeep Chaudhary towards farmers.

At the same time, farmers have warned of boycotting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in case of non-payment of sugar duties. It was also announced to organize a Mahapanchayat on April 10 for the upcoming strategy. The Panchayat was presided over by Pitam Pradhan and led by Ankit Chauhan. During this, farmers like William Pradhan, Rakesh Jaganpur, Bablu Shekhupura, Vinod, Subhash, Surendra, Bijendra, Prem, Kalu, Vakil, Butchha etc. were present. Kairana News
