The Election Commission has started investigating the complaints filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in Rajasthan. It is worth noting that the Congress and the Marxist Congress Party (CPI-M) approached the Election Commission regarding the Prime Minister’s statement. In doing so, Prime Minister Modi claimed that if the Congress comes to power, it will distribute people’s property among the Muslims.

According to officials in the Election Commission, the complaints submitted regarding the Prime Minister’s statement are being examined. It is worth noting that the Congress submitted 17 complaints against Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the commission in 140 pages. The Congress has appealed to the Election Commission to take concrete steps against Prime Minister Modi. The party alleged that Prime Minister Modi had clearly violated the code of conduct in making partisan and malicious statements. A party delegation came to the Election Commission and complained about the words of Prime Minister Modi and 15 other issues. This delegation included Congress leaders Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Gurdeep Spaal.

On the other hand, the CPI(M) said on Monday that it has sent a complaint to the Delhi Police Commissioner along with filing a complaint with the Election Commission against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks regarding the distribution of property in Rajasthan. A letter has been sent to the Delhi Police Commissioner in this regard.

What did Prime Minister Modi say?

Prime Minister Modi said at an election rally in Rajasthan on Sunday that if the Congress comes to power at the Centre, it will take people’s property and distribute it to infiltrators and those who have extra children. Modi said this while quoting a statement by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in which he said that the minority community has the “first right” over the country’s resources.
