New flight to Scottish airport launched by Eastern Airways Achi-News

“Eastern Airways’ return to the Aberdeen service, having operated the route between 2001 and 2022, will add to the airline’s long-established Teesside summer seasonal Jersey service which resumes on Saturday May 11 and joins base 100 seater Eastern Airways. Embraer 190 last month to operate the KLM Cityhopper Amsterdam service, leading to Eastern operating up to 54 arrivals and departures each week from Teesside Airport.”

Teesside International Airport managing director Phil Forster said: “We are delighted to have reached this agreement with Eastern Airways and look forward to working with them to provide a great service to our passengers.

“We know that this service is extremely important to our passengers and the economy of the area so we are proud to have secured its future in such a short period of time – and to be [the] only north east airport now flies direct to Aberdeen.”

Chris Tibbett, director of aerospace at Aberdeen International Airport owner AGS Airports, said: “We are delighted to welcome back the route between Aberdeen and Teesside, with Eastern Airways strengthening links between the two regions.

“The reinstatement of the route between Aberdeen and Teesside reflects our continued commitment to meeting the needs of our passengers and supporting the growth of regional air travel.”

Roger Hage, commercial director of Humberside-based Eastern Airways, said: “The return to the Aberdeen service from May 20 restores familiarity to many faces we have welcomed for many years.”

He claimed: “We, more than any operator, know the value of connecting the UK’s energy capital Aberdeen with significant employment centers across the UK.”

Mr Hage said: “Adding Teesside to our growing mix of routes, while also operating services such as Amsterdam on behalf of KLM and the summer seasonal Jersey flights along with Aberdeen, all help to ensure the long-term future of connectivity from the wider regions. from Teesside, North Yorkshire and South Tyneside to north-east Scotland.”
