Federal Minister Ishaq Dar has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products, providing relief to the inflation-affected people.
According to TV channel 24NewsHD, the federal minister made the announcement during a press conference.
He said the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs 12.63 per litre; light speed diesel at Rs10:78 per litre, HSD 12.13 per liter and kerosene at Rs10.19 per litre.
Dar said the decision to reduce the prices of petroleum products was taken in consultation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The new price of petrol will be Rs 224.80 per liter from October 1 and the price of kerosene will be Rs 191.83 per litre.
High-speed diesel will be priced at Rs 235.30 per liter and light-speed diesel will be priced at Rs 186.50.
The Finance Minister also announced a 31-day extension of the date for submitting tax returns.
According to the Finance Department, the government has decided to reduce the prices of petroleum products as a result of the reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the international market and with a view to providing relief to the consumers.
