Sandhu will contest elections
Apart from this, about a week ago former diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu had also joined the BJP. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, former Indian Ambassador to America, belongs to a family of Panthic Sikhs. His grandfather had fought many battles for SGPC and his family has a good reputation among the Sikhs. His grandfather Sardar Teja Singh is so revered that Samudri Hall was built in his name at Amritsar Golden Temple. It is believed that BJP can field Sandhu from Amritsar.
