A Montreal jury has found a 38-year-old woman guilty of first-degree murder in the horrific torture and death of a young man in Lachine in 2021.
Jurors handed down the verdict on Saturday after five days of deliberations.
Jimmy Mattha, 27, was at a party with friends at a flat in Rathwell Street in Lachin but the flatmate, Veronique Manseau, was high on crack, became paranoid and accused him of spying for her ex.

She attacked him repeatedly, forced him to drink a flammable liquid, then stabbed him repeatedly. Police later discovered the victim’s mutilated body in a barrel in a nearby garage.
Manso received an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole for 25 years.
