LAHORE – The student associations of University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, ICE UET and Climate Action Forum, organized a joint inter-departmental event with the theme “Water for Peace” in connection with World Water Day 2024. The event was motivated by the distinguished presence of Deputy Director Planning and Development Lahore Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Tayyab Malik who participated as the chief guest and addressed the participants. Furthermore, the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department of Professor Dr. Khalid Mehmood, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) Professor Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan, Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Asif Ali Qaiser, and Director of the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Research (IEER) Professor Dr. Amir Ikhlaq also participated as guest speakers. The purpose of the event was to draw attention to the scarcity of water and increase public understanding to manage fresh water resources. Tayyab Malik, through an engaging speech and thoughtful panel discussion, enlightened the audience about Pakistan’s water crisis while talking about the steps WASA is taking to address the problem.
