Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently fired at Adil Hussain following the latter’s criticism of the film Kabir Singh. Adil, known for his role as the college dean in the Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer, expressed regret over his involvement in the film, speaking on a popular podcast. His remarks received widespread attention, prompting Sandeep to lash out at him on social media platform X.
In his reply, Sandeep made a comment directed at Adil, stressing that his participation in ’20 Art Films’ was not as well recognized as the blockbuster Kabir Singh. Sandeep further stated his intention to replace Adil’s face in the film using AI technology.
During an appearance on the AP podcast, Adil expressed regret over his decision to star in Kabir Singh. He admitted that he accepted the role without fully understanding the premise of the film. "This is the only film in my life I made without reading the script, without seeing the film it is based on," he commented. Adil told about his experience watching a movie in the theater and leaving after only 20 minutes. He criticized Kabir Singh as a ‘misogynistic’ film and stated that he would not recommend it, even to his wife.
Also, recently talking to GPlus in a video interview, Adil Hussain said that he does not see RRR as a big film.
He said, “Movies like RRR are entertaining but it’s not a great movie. I’d rather watch Village Rockstar than RRR. I’d go to a movie theater to see Village Rockstars and wait for RRR to hit Netflix. It depends on what your take on a great movie is.” .
