Sean “Diddy” Combs has been warned he could face a life sentence amid sex-trafficking allegations.
Talk with Us Weeklya legal expert claimed that the rapper, who also goes by Diddy and Puff Daddy, could be arrested in the coming days or weeks.
Neama Rahmani told the publication that the scandal appears to be a Jeffrey Epstein or R. Kelly-like case that could end with Diddy spending the rest of his life behind bars.
The lawyer, who is not officially connected to the case, said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if this was another kind of Jeffrey Epstein or R. Kelly. [of sex trafficking] a case where we are talking about multiple victims across multiple jurisdictions over a significant period of time.”
“And again, these are just allegations. Nothing has been proven yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Diddy was arrested in the coming days or weeks and he will have to face these charges,” he added.
“There is no possible plea that is going to get him away with a slap on the wrist or the test. If the prosecutors are successful and can prove it, he could end up dying in prison,” the expert said.
Meanwhile, two of Diddy’s residences were raided by law enforcement agents in connection with a federal sex-trafficking investigation.
“[Federal agents were] looking for evidence of criminal activity, primarily sex trafficking … but other crimes as well, including possible gun and firearms charges, and we’re talking about someone who could spend decades in federal prison like R. Kelly,” Rahmani said.
“This is why under federal law, if someone is convicted of even one count of sex trafficking, they carry at least 10 or 15 years in prison – minimum.
“The judge cannot go lower for every count depending on the age of the victim.”
For the shameless, the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, has been accused of sexual and physical abuse, which prompted other victims to present a list of accusations ranging from sexual assault to sex trafficking and human trafficking.
