The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been called in to investigate the death of a man in Gleichen on Wednesday.
According to RCMP, officers were called to a home in the hamlet around 7:30pm to reports of an unresponsive man.
Police arrived to find the man was already dead and had “injuries consistent with assault.”
Gleichen is about 100 kilometers southeast of Calgary.
An autopsy Thursday determined the manner of death was homicide.
