The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to an alleged drug dealer in the Mumbai-based Cordelia Cruises case in 2021. The court found that there was uncertainty in the seizure of the factory, which could allegedly lead to his acquittal.
A single bench of Justice NJ Jamder granted bail to Abdul Qader Sheikh, who has been in jail for more than two years, on a bond of Rs 1 lakh. Bollywood actor Aryan’s son Aryan has also been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a high-profile case. The Supreme Court later granted him bail. Ari is not accused after all.
Sheikh was accused of supplying drugs to some of the accused in the case. NCB claimed that it seized drugs from Sheikh at the time of his arrest. The High Court, in its order, said that there is an apparent contradiction in the description of the drug allegedly seized from Sheikh and the sample collected from him and the sample CFSL received for analysis.
