Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved several agricultural projects.

A meeting was held in Lahore chaired by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz where she approved the program of cooking hides across Punjab.

He approved the construction of 1200 water courses at a cost of 10 billion rupees in 2 years and also ordered the construction of all canals in the next 5 years.

Punjab Chief Minister also approved the solar tube grass project and decided to provide 56 types of agricultural machinery to the farmers at 60% subsidy.

It was said in the meeting that 1000 laser levelers will be given to the farmers of Punjab in the next 6 months.

A plan to increase seed production from 4 lakh tonnes to 6 lakh tonnes was also presented in the meeting.

In the meeting presided over by the Punjab Chief Minister, the proposal to grow soybean seeds on 1 lakh acres with the support of Faisalabad Agricultural University was also considered.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, said that the federal government will be contacted to remove the tax and duty on high-tech agricultural machinery.

It was said in the briefing session that there is a tax and duty of 30 to 37 percent on high-tech agricultural machines, the federal government will be contacted to remove the tax on a rice straw shredder.

In the briefing session, it was said that agricultural machines will be purchased at a cost of 2 billion rupees in 3 months, these machines will be given to farmers on subsidy, and solar systems will be provided to farmers who have to 25 acres of land. in 2 years.

During the briefing session in the meeting, it was said that due to manual sowing, wheat production of 12% and reduction of 18% in rice production, Pakistan’s requirement of 29 million tons of wheat, of which Punjab produces 26 million tons.

In the briefing, it was said that 1.75 million tonnes of seeds are required every year for growing various crops in Pakistan, while 50 billion seeds are imported every year.
