Asif Ali Zardari says that Pakistan and the United Kingdom enjoy cordial relations strengthened by high-level interaction and people-to-people contacts over the years.
ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint News / UrduPoint / Pakistan Point – March 28, 2024) President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized on further strengthening the trade and economic relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom for the benefit of both sides.
He was talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday (today).
The President said that Pakistan and the United Kingdom enjoy warm relations strengthened by high-level interaction and people-to-people contacts over the years.
He said that stabilizing the economy with a key focus on generating employment and alleviating poverty is one of the government’s main priorities.
Highlighting climate change as a serious challenge for Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari informed the High Commissioner that Sindh province has over 600,000 hectares of mangrove forests, which support the coastal ecosystem and contribute to environmental sustainability.
The President expressed his warm feelings towards His Majesty King Charles III and the Princess of Wales, Catherine Middleton, and wished them good health.
