GUWAHATI: ‘Mini’ became the first Assamese film to be screened at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on April 1. The historic screening was graced by President Draupadi Murmu, along with the film’s cast and crew.
It marked a prestigious moment for Assam and thanks to this producer, Pankaj Mahanta expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for the successful screening of the film. He revealed that President Murmu was very excited by the plot line and description of the movie.

‘Mini’ depicts the poignant narrative of the tea garden workers in Assam, shedding light on their struggles and challenges against the backdrop of the country’s verdant tea gardens. The film poignantly describes the difficulties these workers face, including their struggle for basic human rights such as education and land rights.

‘Mini”s journey to Rashtrapati Bhavan following its trailer launch at a prestigious event in Mumbai, orchestrated by renowned filmmaker Arunjit Bora. Coinciding with the 200th anniversary of the Assam tea industry, ‘Mini’ has garnered widespread attention for its depiction of the region’s rich cultural heritage and social issues.
