How did Momika create a big controversy?

Momika has publicly burned and desecrated the Muslim holy book several times in Sweden, causing outrage among Muslims around the world over the past few years. After videos of his provocative acts of burning the Koran surfaced, massive protests were held in several Muslim countries, leading to riots and disturbances in many places.

The Swedish government, while condemning the desecration of the Quran, refrained from taking any action against Momika, citing the country’s laws on freedom of speech and assembly.

Swedish migration authorities revoked Momika’s residence permit in October, saying she had provided false information in her application. So they will be sent to Iraq. However, Momika’s deportation was stopped due to security reasons. Momika said that if they were sent back to their homeland, their lives could be in danger.

Diplomatic problems also arose due to the Quran burning incidents. For example, the Swedish defense minister had to cancel his visit to Turkey during negotiations regarding Sweden’s accession to NATO.
