A massive avalanche hit Hung area of Sonamarg in Ganderbal district on Friday afternoon even after two vehicles were rescued while no injuries have been reported in the incident, police said.
An official told KNS that avalanches hit the Hung area of Sonamarg, however, there were no reports of injuries or property damage in the incident.
He said, soon after a police team was sent to the scene at the address of SSP Ganderbal Sandeep Gupta.
“The team managed to rescue two vehicles that were stuck under a snow avalanche. All the passengers involved were unharmed. The swift action ensured the safety and welfare of passengers,” he said.
The officer added that two vehicles were rescued that were trapped under the avalanche while the snow clearing work was on. (KNS)
