GUWAHATI: Former IPS officer Anand Mishra has announced his candidature for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, stating that he will file his nomination from Buxar, Bihar on May 7.

Mishra confirmed his intention to contest from 33-Buxar LS Seat in Bihar via social media on April 28.

Mishra took to X to announce, “We are filing for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 from 33-BUXAR LS Seat (Bihar) on May 7, 2024. All are cordially invited on 07-05-2024 at 10 AM to Buxar, Bihar . Please.”

Mishra stated his dedication to serving the people of Boxer and fighting corruption, and claimed that his campaign represented the collective aspirations of the district, cutting across party lines. He served as Superintendent of Police in various districts of Assam, including Charaydeo, Dobri, Nagaon and North Lakhimpur. After his resignation from the Shavas in December 2023, Mishra expressed a desire to promote social services and personal goals that are aligned with freedom and independence.
