Doncic was told, shortly before the game, that their coach Jason Kidd compared him to Irving with Superman and Batman. Doncic gave his own take on the superhero reference and claimed he was Irving’s sidekick.

Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic performed brilliantly again helping his team beat the Sacramento Kings 132-96. It was the Dallas Mavericks’ fifth win in a row.

In the press conference after the game, the NBA star also praised his teammate Kyrie Irving.

Doncic scored 28 points in the game against Sacramento, with 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Dallas is on a 9-1 run and currently sits in sixth place in the Western Conference standings. Dallas is just one win behind the Pelicans in fifth place.

When Irving, an 8-time All-Star and one of the best shooters in the game, joined Dallas last year fans were excited about the possibility of another “double act” in the NBA with Luka Doncic.

Those hopes have become a reality this year. In the game against the Kings, Irving scored 24 points, three rebounds and eight assists. They were ably supported by Tim Hardaway Jr who scored with 22 points.

After the win, Doncic was told, just before the game, that their coach Jason Kidd compared him to Irving to Superman and Batman.

Doncic gave his own take on the superhero reference and claimed he was Irving’s sidekick. “He’s Batman. I’m Robin. No, just awesome, man. To have him on our team is amazing,” Doncic said.

The Dallas Mavericks won their fifth game in a row on Tuesday and with that achievement, they also won two crucial points.

They went into the game finishing in sixth place. On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings won their first two games and are now eighth after losing to the Mavericks.

Finishing in the top six will help teams qualify directly for the play-offs and avoid the dreaded play-in tournament.

The Mavericks had a scoring advantage in all four quarters of their game against Sacramento. After the victory, coach Jason Kidd spoke about his team’s improved performances and emphasized that they are peaking at the right moment, just before the play-offs.

Dallas will take on the Houston Rockets next Sunday night. Houston may have started slowly and lie in 11th place in the Western Conference but they are currently on a 10-0 run.
