Devon Conway was CSK’s leading run scorer in the last IPL season.
New Zealand’s Devon Conway has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 due to injury. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have included England’s Richard Gleeson in the squad in place of Conway. Conway did not play a single game this season.
Conway was unavailable for the first half of IPL 2024 due to a thumb injury. He had surgery on his thumb last month and has been out of action since then.
CSK’s next match will be played tomorrow ie on 19th April against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Lucknow. CSK is third in the points table with 8 points after winning 4 out of 6 matches this season.
Was player of the match in the final last season
Conway was man of the match in last year’s final against GT. CSK won this match by 5 wickets. In IPL 2023, he scored 672 runs in 16 matches. He was his team’s top run scorer.
Conway was signed by CSK in the 2022 auction for a base price of Rs 1 crore. The left-handed batsman has so far scored 924 runs in 23 IPL matches at an average of 46.12 and a strike rate of 141.28.
