JAMMU, MARCH 28: Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today had a detailed review of the development of the Skills portal for the Skill Development Department (SDD) by Bhaskaracharya’s National Institute of Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG-N) with the NIC and the IT Department of the UT.
Besides the Secretary, SDD the meeting was attended by the Commissioner Secretary, IT; Secretary, Planning; DG, Planning; Director, SDD, and other concerned officers of the Department.
During this meeting, the Chief Secretary held detailed discussions with all the stakeholders regarding the degrees and ingredients to be part of this portal. He asked the developers about the usefulness and significance of this portal for the people apart from the new initiatives to make them a part of it.
He further asked about the courses to be offered over this portal for skilling and the type of alerts, and information to be provided to applicants. He suggested making it multilingual for the convenience of the diverse population that lives here. He also asked for the inclusion of motivational videos detailing the schemes offered in each sector of self-employment as well as adding those on the Daksh Kisan portal.
The Secretary, SDD, Kumar Rajeev Ranjan threw light on various aspects and avenues to include them on it. He said that the portal which is being developed is going to host several online courses which are beneficial for the people who need to skill themselves under different sectors or areas of interest like Agriculture, automotive, BFSI, construction, beauty and welfare, etc.
