Tamil Nadu: Late MP Ganeshamurthy. Shadow of grief in political circles. He died of a heart attack on Thursday. He tried to commit suicide by eating pesticides on Sunday night this week.
According to reports in the country’s all-India media, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) MP Ganeshamurthy attempted suicide on Sunday night. The Tamil Nadu MP was taken to a medical center in a critical condition on Sunday by his family members.

He was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore. The MP was on ventilation. He died in this hospital at around 5.05 am on Thursday. He was 77 years old at the time of his death.
Ganeshmurthy won the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Erode on a DMK ticket. According to sources, the MP’s family was informed after falling ill, that the MP said he had consumed pesticides. However, as to why he made such a sudden decision, nothing is known yet.
Ganeshamurthy did not get a ticket as a candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha. For the upcoming elections, MDMK and DMK have decided to field Durai Vaiko, son of MDMK general secretary Vaiko, as the party candidate.
