King Charles III is on the return path.

The 75-year-old British queen will slowly return to public life after a three-month break to focus on her treatment and recovery after being diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer.

In a nod to the support he has received recently, Charles plans to visit a cancer treatment center on Tuesday as he steps back into the spotlight given to the Queen.

Although members of the royal family are usually quite busy during the warmer months ahead, Charles is planning a packed summer program with his attendance determined closer to the time of each event.

Charles will continue to carry out all his state duties, including reviewing government documents and meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, as he has done since his diagnosis was revealed on February 5, the palace

Here is a timeline of recent events in the royal family since Charles became king:

— September 8, 2022: Charles becomes king on the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

— March 29, 2023: Charles makes the first foreign visit as monarch to Germany, stunning lawmakers with his control of Germany.

– May 6, 2023: The new queen is crowned at Westminster Abbey.

— September 20, 2023: Charles visits France, stopping at the fire-damaged Notre Dame cathedral.

— October 31, 2023: Charles visits Kenya; expresses sadness and regret for past violence committed against Kenyans as they seek independence.

— December 25, 2023: Charles attends a Christmas service at Sandringham, the royal estate on the east coast of England, alongside other members of the royal family.

— January 16, 2024: Kate, 42, undergoes abdominal surgery.

— Feb. 27: William pulls out of a memorial service for his godfather, the late King Constantine of Greece, due to a “personal matter.” Her office refuses to elaborate but Kate says she continues to do well.

Later the same day, Buckingham Palace says that Thomas Kingston, son-in-law of Prince Michael of Kent, has died aged 45. Prince Michael is Elizabeth’s cousin.

— March 1: Inquest hears that Thomas Kingston died of a “traumatic wound to the head” on February 25. A gun was found near his body at his parents’ home.

– March 10: Kensington Palace releases a photo of Kate surrounded by her children to mark Mother’s Day in Britain. The photo, the first official one since her surgery, was pulled hours later by The Associated Press and other news agencies over concerns that it had been digitally manipulated.

– March 11: Amid speculation about her health sparked by the edited family photo, Kate apologizes on social media for the “confusion” caused. She says she “experiments with editing occasionally” like many amateur photographers.
