The police team received confidential information that Gumthala Gadhu, a resident of Sheesha Singh, was growing a large quantity of opium crop without permit and license by barricading himself inside his enclosure.

If the enclosure near Sheesha Singh’s house is raided, opium plants can be recovered from its enclosure. Acting on information, the police team reached the enclosure of Sheesha Singh at Gumthala Garhu where a large number of opium plants were found standing. Gazetted officer Anil Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pehwa were called to the spot. When asked about his name and address by the person standing at the spot, he said his name as Sheesha Singh, son of Pritam Singh, resident of Gumthala Garhu, Kurukshetra district. In front of the Gazetted Officer, the police team recovered 606 opium plants weighing 29.6 kg from Sheesha Singh’s enclosure. The recovered plants are worth around Rs 1.5 lakh. After registering a case against the accused under the Narcotics Act at Sadar Pehwa police station, Sub-Inspector Rishipal of Crime Investigation Branch-2 arrested the accused Sheesha Singh. The accused was presented in the honorable court and sent to prison by order of the court.
