GUWAHATI: A man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his friend, on April 23.

The murder took place in the village of Pahmara, in the jurisdiction of the Berberi police station in Baksa.

The victim, identified as Ramni Baishya, son of Dilip Baishya, was brutally attacked and fatally stabbed with a sharp weapon.
Another person, Rakesh Lahari, son of Khamana Lahari, also suffered serious injuries during the attack.
In a conversation with GPlus, a police official from Barbari Police Station said, “The two victims went out on the pretext of a party with their alleged friends. After some time, a fight broke out on the road between them and one of the individuals stabbed Ramani injuring Rakesh. Ramani Baishya was declared dead when he was brought to the Dr. Ravi Civil Hospital Boro in Bassa. Rakesh Lahari is alive and being treated for his injuries. He was shifted to Gehati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
The accused has not yet been caught and further investigations are underway.
