Ranchi: Jharkhand (Jharkhand News) Rural Development Minister Alamgir PA Private Secretary Sanjeev Lal’s house has found a huge amount of money and seized it by ED officials (ED Raid).
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided several locations in Ranchi, Jharkhand and seized huge amounts of cash. Crores of rupees were seized from the house of PA Sanjeev Lal, Private Secretary to Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. According to sources, this cash is estimated to be between 20 and 30 crore rupees. The notes are currently being counted through counting machines.

Jharkhand Rural Development Department Chief Engineer Virendra K was booked and arrested by the ED in February 2023 in a money laundering case related to irregularities in the implementation of some development projects. According to information, the money seized now is believed to be part of black money.
According to sources, the ED was investigating a case involving a bribe of Rs 10,000. At that time, the DE had traced some such contacts that were connected to the minister. ED got information that corruption is happening in Alamgir Alam’s ministry and this money is going to his personal assistant’s house. After this, the ED raided the house of Alamgir’s private secretary PA and the officers were surprised to see the huge amount of cash there.
Now that this case has taken a political turn, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who attacked the Congress on this issue, said, ‘Let the count stop, this number will reach 50 crores. He claimed that the entire government of Jharkhand is mired in corruption. A huge amount of cash was also recovered in Jharkhand in December last year. Then more than 350 crore rupees in cash was found in the home office of a Congress MP.
ED had seized more than Rs 350 crore from Congress Rajya Sabha MP and businessman Dheeraj Sahu. He responded that the money found in the raid belonged to my liquor companies. He said that the liquor business is only in cash and has nothing to do with the Congress party.

The BJP MLA said that Dheeraj Sahu has accumulated this wealth by exploiting the resources of Jharkhand and violating the rights of the poor. BJP MLAs came to Vidhansouda and protested by tying placards around their necks that read “Congress is a dark empire”. At that time, Alamgir Alam and Dheeraj Sahu had protected him. Defending Dheeraj Sahu, Alamgir Alam said, “It is not an issue of the assembly, BJP is using the assembly as a platform to prepare its political agenda, which is not right. IT also has not given any statement yet. However, he said that this money does not belong to Dheeraj Sahu alone, but belongs to his business family.
Who is Alamgir Alam?
Alamgir Alam is a four-time Congress Member of Parliament from Pakur Assembly and is currently the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development in the state government. Before this, Alamgir Alam was the Speaker of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from 20 October 2006 to 12 December 2009. After inheriting politics, Alamgir entered politics by winning Sarpanch election.
He first became an MLA in 2000 and has been a 4-time MLA since then.
