Police said the girls are believed to be together, but that concern is heightened by their age.

Sergeant Stuart Turley said: “Chloe and Julia are friends and we believe they are together, however there is growing concern because of their age and the fact that they have been missing since Friday night.

“We appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen the girls, or has information on their whereabouts, to come forward.

“We are also appealing directly to Chloe and Julia to please contact someone to let us know they are safe and well.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting numbers including 4751 and 4599 from Friday 3 May 2024.”
