Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) chief S Somnath on Tuesday said the global space community needs to develop skills to go beyond Earth’s orbit.

We need to develop skills

ISRO chief Somnath attended the inaugural meeting of the 42nd Inter-Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC). During this, he said, “When you consider future exploration, maybe we need to develop skills to go beyond the Earth orbit like the Earth-Moon system and the exploration of the solar planets. I think all these areas are also becoming crowded. Especially in the lunar region. I believe that this group You will examine this aspect in more detail in the coming days.

The goal is to make space missions waste-free.

During this, the ISRO chief announced that India’s goal is to make space mission debris free by 2030.

There is a need for further strengthening of all activities in the coming days.

He said, ‘The space mission should be made free by 2023 with the help of all Indian players, government and non-government. India is creating mechanisms and structures to ensure that waste is not generated. He further said that we create mechanisms and structures within space systems so that a large number of debris cannot be created. A lot of good things have been happening in recent years. We must further strengthen all these activities in the coming days.

Safe for a 400 kilometer route

The ISRO chief also suggested ensuring that the 400-km orbit is safe so that more space stations can go up to ensure continuous human presence in space. He said, ‘For the purpose of building a space station in the coming days, we are looking at the orbits where more stations are going to be built. Space at an altitude of 400 km. I think this area needs to be protected for continued human presence in space.’
