Delhi High Court

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got some relief from the High Court. The court dismissed the petition filed to remove Kejriwal, who was arrested in the liquor policy case, from the post of CM. Surjeet Singh Yadav filed a petition in the High Court. They demanded that he should be removed from the post of CM. The petitioner has asked the Chief Secretary of the Central Government, Delhi Government and the Lt. Governor to clarify under which officer Kejriwal continues as CM.

Petitioner Surjit Yadav said that the Chief Minister involved in a financial scam should not be allowed to continue in office. He claimed that Kejriwal’s continued tenure as chief minister would not only obstruct the judicial process but also violate the constitutional system. However, the High Court made it clear that Kejriwal cannot be removed from the post of CM and cannot be stopped from continuing to rule from jail. A two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Manpreet Singh Arora dismissed the petition.
