The United States has officially launched a pilot program for H-1B visa renewals. This pilot program started from January 29. It will benefit thousands of Indian information and technology professionals who want to move abroad for work.

Currently, H-1B holders can renew their visas in the United States before traveling abroad. The initiative was announced during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States in June last year. The State Department said in a statement on Monday that the pilot program will run from January 29 to April 1 or until application slots are filled – whichever comes first.

By the way, the H-1B visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows US companies to hire theoretical or technological foreign workers. US tech companies rely on H-1B visas to hire tens of thousands of workers from countries like India and China. For the first time in two decades, a limited number of nonimmigrants will be able to renew their visas from within the United States.

According to the State Department, 4,000 applicants can apply for visa renewal each week under the pilot program. Of these, 2,000 applicants were granted H-1B visas by Canadian diplomatic missions. And 2,000 applicants who were granted H-1B visas by US embassies and consulates in India can apply.

Don’t forget to eat the fruit and throw away these ‘nectar seeds’, it will be a big mistake…

Application slots will be released on 29 January, 5 February, 12 February, 19 February and 26 February. Candidates can apply through the specified portal on the date mentioned above. An applicant who is unable to apply on this date may re-apply on any application date within the entry period.

The process will take six to eight weeks after the applicant’s passport and other required documents arrive at the State Department. The State Department also said applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The State Department also said that individuals who do not meet the criteria for participation in the pilot program or do not wish to participate can apply for visa renewal through a US embassy or mission abroad.
