Congress leaders in Bangalore have once again opened a front against the central government. Several leaders, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, on Sunday staged a protest over the drought relief funds given by the Centre. The state government claims that the central government is behaving in a step-motherly manner.
Chombu protested
Holding ‘chumbu’, a round water vessel symbolizing emptiness and deceit, the leaders accused the Center of betraying Karnataka. Leaders say the central government has not released enough aid money to deal with the drought.
