Scrutiny of nomination papers was carried out on Thursday after the completion of the process of submission of nominations for Lok Sabha seats Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara in the first phase in the state. The nominations of all the candidates in Mandla have been found valid. In the initial scrutiny of nomination papers, 4 nominations have been rejected. It includes independent candidates along with All India Gondwana Party, Rashtriya Gondwana Party. On the other hand, the process of filing nominations for seven more Lok Sabha seats in the state has also started.
In the first phase, 153 nomination papers were filed by a total of 113 candidates.
